KEORO Resort Wear

Evelyn Virag Keoro

Today we interview Evelyn and Oana two young and talented UAE based Italian designers who created KEORO, a luxury resort-wear collection born in Dubai.

The collection is a direct reflection of Dubai’s lifestyle with year-round summer-like climate and mix of sea and desert that is shown through the collection by the usage of aqua green, blue, bronze and white. The prints are inspired by the culture and the sight of the region: paisleys as an ancient Persian and Indian motif, dégradé as the shades of the magical sunsets and hues of blue that denote the sea. It embodies the modern and sophisticated woman who desires to be elegant and sensual, yet looks for multi-functionality and comfort. The collection is multi-faceted and can be worn on a casual day at the beach or to a glamorous yacht party and further into the evening as the kaftan transforms into an evening dress

Evelyn, Oana what inspired you to start a resort wear collection?

Our collection is inspired by our travels, our love for the sea and our free spirits. We also realized it was difficult here in Dubai to find something different other than heavily ornate and embroidered beach kaftans, so we decided to create a clean and sophisticated design that would appeal to women like us.

What are your greatest influences or fashion icons?

Other resort wear designers like Melissa Odabash, and Heidi Klein but mainly our inspiration comes from observing people on the beach all over the world.

How would you describe the KEORO woman?

She is modern, sophisticated and sensual. Who appreciates multi-functionality and comfort.

Challenges of starting your own fashion collection?

The biggest challenge is reaching out to the target audience. Creating a collection from start to finish requires a lot of effort, dedication, and patience. Also because we decided to produce the collection here in the UAE finding the right factory that could provide the highest standards of quality.

Favorite boutiques?

Candela, Boutique 1, Sauce, Salinas

Thank you girls for the interview anything else you would like to share with our audience?

All we want to say is that we must all follow our dreams. It is our dreams that define us, our spirit that guides us and eventually our hard work that helps us grow. We all have it in us to think beyond the traditional boundaries.

Practicing Yoga At Home

christy turlington yoga

After a long day at the office, sometimes by the time I get home  the last thing I want is to get back in the car and drive over anywhere for a yoga session. So recently I bought myself a nice yoga mat and decided to try yoga youtube workouts in the privacy of my own home, so I can still work out and stretch without having to leave the house and the results have been amazing. Here are some tips to consider in order to prevent injury and maximize the experience:

1) Create  your own space

Set aside a space in your room making sure  it is free from furniture and is clean and serene. I like to light a candle to create a peaceful atmosphere and I have a nice playlist of soothing music from Spirit Vogage and Shiva Rea has  compiled a collection of trance music suitable for Vinyasa flow. Keep the lighting low and relaxed.

2) Prevent Injury

Don’t force postures. Anything that is advanced is much better to do around a teacher who can watch you, but at home dont compete with your body -Be present, warm up, fully get into the poses you know…that is how an at home practice should be. Difficult poses should be in a class, where your teacher can make a safe environment for you.

3) Choose your youtube yoga style ( here are some of my favorite):

Hatha Yoga at Home

Weightloss Yoga with Tara Stiles

Jillian Michaels Yoga Meltdown1

4) Research!

The internet is a wealth of resources for an at home yoga practice.  Itunes has many yoga podcasts and  I Yoga Life has many videos  for a variety of levels.

7) Meditate

Sit with a straight spine, close your eyes and focus on your breath. The benefits of meditation include everything from lowering your blood pressure to improving your mood.

Embroidery/Brocade Fashion Trends

Our S.O. fashion consultant Ruchika  talks to us about her love for this season’s hot trend embroidery and brocade.

Ruchika Fashion Trends

Brocade in bold colors and sharp patterns prove to stand out just as much as Swarovski or heavy beading. I really like this MSGM’s (bottom right) dress available at Sauce and Harvey Nichols. Its simple shift shape is accentuated with the puffer sleeve that is dramatic and eye catching and can be played up further with stylish arm bangles like Chamak by Priya Kakkar(top right)

I also love all things Mochi (top left )since its full embroidery pieces make for more fun, flirty and yet formal outfits also available at Sauce.

Save the shimmer if you must for the simplest and safest of items like shoes and bags (bottom left).

Nadine Sabaiti The Hipster

hot100sabaitisistersToday we interviewed the charming and stylish Nadine Sabaiti from The Hipster an e-commerce business she started with her sister Chirine that reflects their diverse personal styles, as well as their collective vision to offer the fashion savvy girl with a down to earth style and a quirky twist.

How did you start Nadine?

I am a big online shopper and as I browsed many western websites, I realized while Dubai has every high-end designer and luxury store in the world, it is short of the variety of casual and affordable fashion and specifically online stores that cater to that segment. We therefore decided to fill the gap and in 2012 my sister and I launched The Hipster.

Can you describe your fashion style?

My style is very diverse; it ranges from nonchalant casual to sexy dressy depending on my mood and outing. I definitely love to mix it up, like pairing little emerging labels with high end designers to create a not-so-typical look. Love prints, colors and bold lipstick.

What market does Hipster cater to?

The Hipster caters to girls between the ages of 16-35 who focus more on the style than brand and love to look effortless while they pull off Double-take styles.

Which high-street brand is your absolute favorite?

I love Sass and Bide, but I’m not sure if it qualifies as high street or high end, might be just in between.

What advice/tips would you like to share for emerging women entrepreneurs?

I salute all the women entrepreneurs out there. I encourage all the emerging ones to take slow and steady steps into entrepreneur-ships and be willing to put in the hard work and long hours.

Don’t be afraid to seek help from friends and family, collaborate and learn from other experienced entrepreneurs and make sure what you have to offer is fresh and inimitable.

Thanks Nadine for the interview. Don’t forget to enquire on our fashion consultations, wardrobe edits and styling services contact

4 Holiday Trends

With the holiday season upon us I’ve been hitting the stores and magazines for fashion inspiration. Typically I prefer a classic look and am not a huge fan of fashion trends or seasonal items but after a wardrobe edit with our S.O. fashion consultant I decided to revamp my look with the following trends for a sleek new look. Here are my top 4 fashion trends:

1. geometric school girl skirt that can be combined with a plain white shirt or t shirt/ leather jacket

2. embellished skirt in gold, can be worn with flat sandals and a t, perfect for any chic occasion

3. animal print accessories, such as this clutch in photo below, really makes the outfit pop.

4. a statement necklace, these bold pieces do not have to be expensive and should also be  mixed with a t shirt or plain shirt like below.
