Day 2 was an eventful day, not only for the fashion shows but for the fashion talks as well. Sofia Guellaty, Senior Editor of Style.com/Arabia hosted a talk with well known blogger, BryanBoy. The talk proved to be insightful and informative.
Last season, Bashar Assaf was introduced under the Starch Foundation and a season later he is debuting his first solo collection. The collection is inspired by apex and peaks as well as the stages of love. The colours used across the collection are Burgundy, forest green and navy blue. The collection also uses a variety of fabrics like jacquard, felt, wool, silks and cottons.
Titled as Blow! the collection is inspired by fun loving girls who are bold, daring and adventurous. The collection features a lot of fur, real and faux, along with every possible fabric and colour. The collection is meant for those who are not afraid to experiment and for those who love to stand out from the crowd.
Said Mahrouf’s signature style is feminine but minimalistic. His collection features elegantly draped dresses and pantsuits in flowing fabric. The lines are clean but add movement and the colour palette consisted of neutrals.
Focusing on the signature style of sleek silhouettes, the brand ventures into evening wear. Inspired by strong women like Lara Croft from Tomb Raider, the collection features column dresses and skirts which are made without sewing them together to give them a more sensual feel. The inspiration heavily influenced the fabrics used.
Titled as “Le Royaume Enchante” the collection inspired by the story of sleeping beauty, who wakes up from a long slumber. The collection features exquisite cuts dramatic volumes and refined shapes. The fabrics used for the collection ranges from tulle, silk crepe, organza, mikado and lace.
Velsvoir X Patrick Hellmann
Velsvoir is a luxury bowties and accessory brand brand based in London. In collaboration with Patrick Hellmann, these dapper men put up an exquisite show. The collection, known as “Man In Motion”, depicts the modern man in the pursuit of achieving balance between daywear and evening wear. The accessories are handmade in London and use exotic materials like pony hair, goat suede, stingray, eel and calf suede.
