I’m not the only person who spends an outrageous amount of time trying to take a good “selfie”. The perfect #selfie isn’t as elusive as you think it is. Here are some tips that will definitely help you!
- Lighting – Good lighting is essential for any good selfie. Natural light is the best but you can make do with any good source of lighting. The light source should be in front of you than behind.
- Angles – The angle matters. Whether it’s the angle of your face, the angle of the camera or the angle at which the light hits. Find the good side of your face and work it for the camera. Holding up the camera a bit higher than the level of your face creates a pleasing angle.
- Mood – Selfies are fun and light hearted, so don’t be serious. Try pulling a face, act silly or dorky. It’s all good fun. Take cue from supermodel Cara Delevingne, whose selfies are always enjoyable.
- Background – An interesting background for your selfie will always get you more likes. While it’s fun taking a #MirrorSelfie, avoid places like restrooms. Sure the lighting is good, but having a toilet in the background is never classy.
