Arwa Alammari – Grazia Emerging Designer
The collection is inspired by traditional English tea parties with a dash of style from 50s and 60s. The designer was quoted saying, “My designs are for the woman who wants to look unique and be a head turner whenever she walks in a crowd”.
Titled as Bulletproof, the collection is inspired from the notion of women being portrayed as modern day warriors who are not afraid to display their strength without compromising on their femininity and beauty. The collection features printed geometric bullet motifs.
Zareena is known for design placement and colour palette. The main theme of the collection is abstract shapes and lines which is featured under three groups of design, the whites, the golds and the abstract formations with colours.
The collection is all about comfort versus style. The fabric used across the collection is jersey in a avant garde manner.
The Main inspiration for the collection is 90s classic “pretty woman” with the tagline “I want the fairytale”, which also a well known line from the movie itself. The collection features embroidered lace, sweats with sheer paneling, neoprene and prints with fairytale motifs. The collection is for a renegade princess, marching towards her own destiny.
Inspired by the travels and conquests of Alexander the Great in Persia, India and Egypt, The collection features vibrant colours which is reminiscent of jewels like rubies and emeralds. The fabrics used for the collection are French tulle and embellishments like sequins and crystals.
